Multiplayer

Playing together

Join a friend's world, or run your own server on any computer.

Joining a server

  • In the game, open Multiplayer and add a server's address, for example play.elyndral.net (or a friend's, like 192.168.1.20:30000 on your home network).
  • Every server needs an Elyndral account with a confirmed email. Your name is yours on every server, and nobody else can use it.
  • Servers send their blocks, creatures and mods to you when you join. There's nothing to install.
  • Someone being unpleasant? /mute name hides their chat (/unmute name to undo), and /report name what they did tells the server's operators.
  • Want your own? The server download runs on Windows, Mac or Linux. As its operator you can /kick, /ban and /pardon players and /op friends to help you. A ban follows the player's account, so changing their name won't get them back in.

Run your own server

A world for your friends on any computer. Unzip it, name your server in server.conf and run elyndral-server start. Friends join from the game with your address, logged in with their own accounts.

Open UDP port 30000 on your firewall and router. The server updates itself, and Minecraft mods in its mc_jars folder reach everyone who joins. As its operator you decide its rules: /kick, /ban, /pardon and /op are yours.
